Commitment to quality
I set out to reimagine the traditional Hanten, worn since the Edo period, by combining advanced technology with modern functionality and design. My goal was to honor its heritage while elevating it with innovation.
From a performance perspective, I focused on the back area, where cold is most easily felt, incorporating a space-inspired insulating sheet. For the overall fill, I selected multifunctional fiberfill, and for the skin-facing side, a warm yet breathable blanket fabric. Through this combination, I aimed to achieve ultimate warmth, comfort, and cleanliness.
In terms of design, I chose detailed quilting to prevent the fill from shifting, creating a refined and streamlined silhouette. I intentionally kept the collar clean without visible branding, placing the name subtly on the outer hem instead, using BRAIN SLEEP’s signature red as a quiet accent. The cuffs are finished with blanket fabric, so when folded back, the soft texture becomes visible — a small but thoughtful detail.
I hope this carefully crafted Hanten keeps you warm and comfortable.
