Brain Sleep Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo; CEO: Kosuke Michibata; hereinafter referred to as "Brain Sleep") is collaborating with The Dai-ichi Life Insurance Company, Limited (hereinafter referred to as "Dai-ichi Life") and Nippon Telegraph and Telephone East Corporation (hereinafter referred to as "NTT East") to conduct a demonstration experiment of "Sleeperience," a joint project between the three companies to create a new sleep experience, at Tokyu Stay Kyoto Sakai-za (Shijo Kawaramachi) (hereinafter referred to as "Tokyu Stay Kyoto Sakai-za") from Friday, June 24th to Sunday, July 3rd. Sleeperience is a service that allows users to experience a wide variety of sleep-related products while visualizing their sleep state using sleep measurement devices. In this PoC, the company is offering products that stimulate the five senses based on sleep medicine. Background Japan has the shortest sleep time among OECD member countries, and the amount of sleep time tends to decrease year by year. Continuous lack of sleep leads to accumulation of sleep debt, which leads to decreased concentration during the day, deterioration of mental state, and increased risk of various diseases, including lifestyle-related diseases. In addition to being unable to secure sufficient sleep time, many people are dissatisfied with their own sleep, unable to get quality sleep, and so on, making sleep problems one of the central health issues for modern Japanese people. On the other hand, with the recent rise in interest in sleep, there is an influx of information, products and services related to sleep, and the issue of "I have trouble sleeping, but I don't know what to do about it" has emerged. For those with such issues, Brain Sleep, Dai-ichi Life and NTT East are working together to expand their options for improving their sleep and provide a place where they can take the opportunity to update their sleep to a more satisfying one. This new service, Sleeperence, is currently under consideration. Sleeperience is unique in that it allows you to try out sleep products while you actually go to bed, rather than a temporary fitting at the store. Since you can actually use the product overnight, you can make a purchase decision after being convinced that the sleep product is truly suitable for you. In addition, by using a dedicated sleep measurement device at the same time, the depth of sleep, sleeping posture, relaxation state, etc. while trying out the sleep product are visualized, allowing you to check the quality of your own sleep. Based on the measurement results, you can receive simple advice from a sleep professional, so you can update your own sleep from an objective perspective. As Sleeperience is being offered to the general public for the first time, we wanted to offer the experience to a range of people, so we decided to hold it at Tokyu Stay Kyoto Sakaiza, which is often used by multiple people or for long-term stays, and has good access to tourist attractions.
