Brain Sleep Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo; Representative Director: Kosuke Michibata; hereinafter "Brain Sleep") has launched three new plans for "Sleep Deviation Score for Biz", a health management service focused on sleep that was jointly developed in 2020 with East Nippon Telegraph and Telephone Corporation (hereinafter "NTT East") as an innovation partner, with a focus on ease of implementation. We have also concluded a contract with NTT DX Partner Co., Ltd. (hereinafter "NTT DXPN"), a subsidiary of NTT East, as an authorized distributor. By encouraging more companies to use our services, we will strive to solve Japan's health management challenges from a sleep perspective. Background of the New Plan Introduction Approximately two years have passed since the launch of "Sleep Deviation Score for Biz". In the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic, unprecedented changes have been required in employee work styles, and health management is once again evolving and increasing in importance. Due to changes in the working environment, it has become more difficult to ascertain the health status of individual employees, and new health concerns have emerged due to work at home, etc. The number of companies applying for health management in fiscal year 2022 has increased by 113.7% for large companies and 136.6% for small and medium-sized enterprises compared to fiscal year 2021. Meanwhile, those in charge of health management must address new challenges, such as the inability to use conventional systems due to changes in the working environment, a decline in medical examination rates, musculoskeletal problems under teleworking, and the emergence of communication deficiencies and mental health issues as problems*1. Amidst these changes in the health management market, "sleep" is attracting attention from company managers as a solution to issues related to improving health literacy, promoting work-life balance, and implementing health maintenance and promotion measures. It has also gained an important position, being included in questionnaires for health management surveys. Based on the above background and feedback from health management managers, we have developed new plans that allow for behavioral improvement based on correct sleep knowledge, achieve high employee satisfaction, and minimize the time and cost for company managers. *1...Excerpt from Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry, Healthcare Industry Division (October 2021) document on the promotion of health management. Overview and Features of the New Plan We offer three new plans tailored to the stages of health management initiatives. We have developed plans tailored to corporate challenges, ranging from companies newly embarking on health management and sleep measures, to companies that want to analyze their sleep measures in conjunction with other health management measures and work towards solving issues. We offer various hints for each employee to improve their sleep, including "sleep knowledge videos" from sleep medicine experts such as Dr. Seiji Nishino, chief research advisor at Brain Sleep and author of "The Stanford Way to a Restful Sleep," and "sleep support videos" from professionals in various fields such as exercise, breathing, and meditation, who provide sleep improvement methods. We also provide articles on "sleep advice" supervised by doctors. New Authorized Distributor We believe that it is extremely important for companies to take measures at the corporate level and promote employee sleep improvement, given Japan's significant social problems related to sleep compared to the rest of the world, and the insufficient countermeasures. To enable more companies to adopt this service, Brain Sleep has newly entered into an agency agreement with NTT DXPN. Going forward, both companies will work together to promote the widespread adoption of the Sleep Deviation Score for Biz service. NTT DX Partner Co., Ltd. Number of participants: 484 in total Participant attributes: Employed men and women Implementation period: 1 month Implementation details: Step 1: First Sleep Deviation Score assessment Step 2: Viewing of 4 types of sleep improvement videos (2 sleep videos, stretching, breathing, meditation) Step 3: Second Sleep Deviation Score assessment Step 4: Post-verification survey [Results] In this trial verification, a wide range of participants interested in sleep, across gender and age groups, were recruited through public invitation. The number of applicants exceeded the planned number by the organizers, so recruitment was stopped midway, and as a result, 484 people participated in the verification. Comparing the results of the first and second Sleep Deviation Score assessments, the Sleep Deviation Score for all 484 participants increased by 4.1 points, from 46.3 to 50.5. This indicates that implementing sleep improvement measures improved the sleep situation of the participants from below the average for all employed Japanese to above average, demonstrating the highly significant effect of the implemented content. Furthermore, in the post-verification survey (n=263), 251 out of 263 respondents (95.4%) indicated their intention to participate again if another sleep trial were held (Table 1). In addition, 35.7% of respondents answered that their sleep was "greatly improved" or "improved" in this trial, and including those who answered "slightly improved," the total reached 95.8% (Table 2). The results of this verification showed high interest and satisfaction among employees and demonstrated a potential for improvement, making it a recommended service for managers who want their "employees to participate more actively in health management initiatives" and "want to select a service that can show results within a certain period." Sleep Deviation Score for Biz Plan Details Entry Plan This plan is for companies that are new to health management and sleep measures, or for companies where employees are proactively engaging in health and sleep improvement activities. It can be implemented at a low cost and is specialized in grasping the current situation through data. In the Entry Plan, after completing the Sleep Deviation Score for Biz questionnaire, each employee can check their overall sleep deviation score and evaluation of individual items on an "Individual Advice Sheet" created by comparing it with a database of 10,000 Japanese people. In addition, the "Sleep Advice" articles supervised by doctors contain many hints for each employee to improve their own sleep. Furthermore, the "System Report," which functions as feedback for organizational managers, enables health management personnel to easily report internally. Standard Plan This plan is for companies that aim to acquire White 500 certification or certification as a health-conscious corporation for large/small and medium-sized enterprises, wish to implement and measure the effectiveness of sleep improvement measures, or want to reach individuals who are not currently benefiting from sleep improvement measures. In addition to the Entry Plan, the Standard Plan provides "sleep improvement solutions" uniquely developed by Brain Sleep. Employees in different working environments can experience sleep improvement anytime, anywhere, on their PC, smartphone, or tablet, regardless of their environment. ① Health video content We provide a set of "sleep knowledge videos" from sleep medicine experts, including Dr. Seiji Nishino, chief research advisor at Brain Sleep and author of "The Stanford Way to a Restful Sleep," and "sleep support videos" from professionals in various fields such as exercise, breathing, and meditation, who provide sleep improvement methods. We offer content that naturally promotes sleep improvement, even for those who are not actively seeking it, by allowing them to watch videos that match their lifestyle and preferences. *We plan to continue expanding our health video content with various new additions. Knowledge acquisition confirmation test for sleep video content Based on the sleep knowledge videos, we provide mini-tests with approximately 3 questions. The content is designed not just to conduct seminars, but primarily to solidify knowledge. ② Sleep Content Mail Magazine We send out 12 sleep content mail magazines annually, created based on content supervised by doctors. By regularly sending out columns that foster interest in sleep and articles that improve daily sleep quality, we can generate interest in sleep improvement measures among those who are not yet reached, and remind those who tend to forget to take action to improve their sleep. ③ Premium Coupon for Sleep Improvement Products Brain Sleep will provide employees with a premium coupon that can be used at "zzzLand," a curated shop specializing in sleep that offers products and services for optimal sleep, operated by Brain Sleep. This service is also significant from an employee welfare perspective, as it allows employees to purchase sleep-related products tailored to their concerns at a discounted price. *It is assumed that the cost of purchasing sleep products will be borne by each employee, not the company. ▼BRAIN SLEEP OFFICIAL SITE URL: https://brain-sleep.com/ Advanced Plan This plan offers customized proposals tailored to the specific needs of each company.
